5 Shot, 2 Teens Hurt By Fireworks At Spring Valley Area Home: Police
The shooting occurred during a birthday party Saturday night, police said.
SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — Five adults were shot and two teens suffered burn injuries during a birthday party Saturday night in the Spring Valley area, according to police.
The shooting occurred around 8 p.m. at a house in the 9000 block of Ildica Street, east of State Route 125, police said, adding witnesses told deputies that gunfire was heard coming from the backyard during the party.
The victims included a 26-year-old man in critical condition, as well as a 27-year-old woman, a 30-year-old woman, a 30-year-old man and a 35-year-old man, all of whom were taken to hospitals with minor injuries, according to police. Two teenage boys were treated for burns due to fireworks, police said.

Responding deputies found a frantic scene in the wake of the shooting, according to police, who said some law enforcement personnel searched the area for the shooter while others provided first aid by applying tourniquets to the victims. A K-9 handler and a helicopter also assisted in looking for possible suspects, police said.
Detectives continued investigating Sunday, according to police.

"At this time, the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and there is no known threat to the public," according to a news release from the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
Anyone with information about the incident, including cellphone or surveillance video or photos from the area, is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477. Callers may remain anonymous and are eligible for an up to $1,000 reward for information leading to a felony arrest.
