56-Year-Old Transient Robbed of Wallet at Park-and-Ride Lot

A 56-year-old man was robbed of his wallet at gunpoint Friday night at a park-and-ride lot near Bancroft and Fuerte drives, police said.
The victim, a transient who wasn’t hurt, reported the robbery about 8:20 p.m. when he came to the lobby of the La Mesa Police Station, said a press release.
The victim was sitting in his vehicle when a dark four-door sedan pulled up beside him, he told police.
One man left the car and asked the victim for cigarettes, but when the victim said he had none, a second man pointed a black revolver handgun and demanded his wallet, police said.
“The suspect removed the money from the victim’s wallet and dropped the wallet on the ground,” police said. “Both suspects entered their vehicle and were last seen driving east on Interstate 8 from Fuerte Drive.”
Police said the assailants were described thusly:
Suspect #1: Hispanic male, medium build, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with a light colored bandana concealing his face. He was armed with a black revolver handgun.
Suspect #2: Hispanic male, medium build, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with a light colored bandana concealing his face.
