Deputies searched Thursday for two men wanted in connection with a shooting in Casa de Oro that sent one man to the hospital with a gunshot wound to his arm.
The victim and the two suspects got into a verbal argument in the parking lot of a market in the 9000 block of Campo Road about 10 p.m. Thursday, according to San Diego County sheriff's Sgt. Carlos Medina.
"During the argument, (the victim) picked up a stick to either defend himself or attack," he said in a statement. "One of the (suspects) used a pistol to fire at the victim twice, hitting the victim once in the arm."
The suspects then fled in a dark sedan as the victim crossed the street to a gas station to seek help.
"The victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment," Medina said. "The search for the suspects is ongoing."
Anyone with information about the shooting was asked to call the sheriff's department at (858) 565-5200 or San Diego County Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
