Eggstravagent Talents: Northmont Pupils Show ‘Future of Entertainment’
Tony Lawrence again directs dancers, singers, tumblers, jugglers, magicians and comedians.
Consider the numbers: 145 pupils, 41 acts, seven rehearsals (after two tryouts) over three weeks and a cast of dozens—of PTA parents, student announcers, security and backstage crew. One of the biggest talent shows in Northmont Elementary School history—thanks in part to the addition of sixth grade—entertained hundreds of parents Friday night. But perhaps the most remarkable number was eight: the number of years Tony Lawrence has directed the production. And he has one year left, since his son Richie is in fifth grade. Saluted on his birthday with two eggs on his head, Lawrence was proud of his troupe—and its part in raising funds for the PTA. A plastic bottle was passed around after the 70-minute show.
