Heartlandfire.org Debuts for Agency Serving La Mesa, Lemon Grove

Twitter account has been operating for at least a month, with promise of updated incident reports.

Heartland Fire & Rescue—the consolidated fire agency serving La Mesa, El Cajon and Lemon Grove—has launched a new website called heartlandfire.org

“The website incorporates information on emergency preparedness, fire prevention, photos and current fire department news,” said Heartland spokesman Sonny Saghera.

In addition, Heartland Fire & Rescue is starting a Facebook fan page at HeartlandFire. A Twitter account @Heartlandfire has been tweeting for at least a month.

Saghera says these sites will feature updated information on major incidents as well as information regarding recruiting, fire prevention and community preparedness.

The La Mesa Fire Department, which merged into Heartland in January 2010, still has a presence on the city of La Mesa website and its own deputy fire chief, Greg McAlpine. Lemon Grove has its own city page for the Lemon Grove Fire Department, led by deputy chief Tim Smith.

“I hope you find the information in this website useful. If you have suggestions for improving the site, please let us know.”
