Man In Critical Condition After Shooting Outside Bar In San Diego's South Bay

CHULA VISTA, CA — A man was in critical condition Monday after being shot outside a bar in San Diego's South Bay, authorities said.

Officers responded around 1:40 a.m. Sunday to reports of a man who had been shot in the parking lot of On the Rocks Cocktails at 656 E St. in Chula Vista, according to the Chula Vista Police Department.

Officers found a 31-year-old San Diego man suffering from gunshot wounds, police said. The man, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital where he remained in critical condition.

Police said they believe the victim was with a group of people in the bar's parking lot when the shooting happened.

The investigation was ongoing and police were looking for witnesses.
