Helix, Grossmont Ranked Among Top 10 in SD County at Start of Season
In their first game of the season, Helix High School will play Saturday a Hawaiian team ranked #14 in the nation at Cathedral Catholic High School.
A group of sports journalists and CIF representatives have named Helix Charter High School (#4) and Grossmont High School (#7) among the top 10 football teams in San Diego County this season.
Football teams around San Diego play their first game of the season this week, and eastcountysports.com predicts both La Mesa powerhouses to win.
Grossmont will face Patrick Henry at 6:30 p.m. at Patrick Henry Friday. It may be a high-scoring affair but eastcountysports.com predicts a 28-7 final score.
Helix will battle Punahou High School in the Brothers in Arms Classic at 7 p.m. Saturday at Cathedral Catholic High School in San Diego.
Though the team from Honolulu, HI team is ranked #14 in the nation by Maxpreps.com, eastcountysports.com predicts the Highlanders will win 17-14.
