Helix Water District to Raise Rates by November

The average customer will see a $7.58 increase to their bimonthly bill following a vote Wednesday by the Helix Water District Board of Directors to raise rates.

The Helix Water District Board of Directors voted 3-2 Wednesday to raise rates for its more than 250,000 customers in La Mesa, Spring Valley, Lemon Grove and other parts of San Diego's East County, according to U-T San Diego.

Rates will rise starting in November. 

The bimonthly bills will go up 6 percent (an average of $7.58) in November and 6.2 percent ($8.23) in November 2014, the paper reported.
