Wednesday is National French Fry Day, and fast food chains across the Golden State are determined to get fries in the hands of every Californian.

Americans on average eat an estimated 30 pounds of French fries per year - per person, according to National Today. Multiple surveys name McDonald’s as America’s most popular French fry, but many other chains will butter up fry-lovers with great deals on Wednesday.

Wendy’s made the bold move to turn fry day into fry week, offering free french fries with different purchases.

On Tuesday, patrons can get a free medium fry order with any salad mobile order purchase, and on Wednesday any size fry will come free with any mobile order purchase. On Thursday, early birds can get a small breakfast seasoned potatoes with any app purchase and Friday will bring a buy one get one deal on fry orders of any size.

“Fries deserve to be celebrated, so that's exactly what Wendy's is setting out to do,” Wendy’s said on its website.

Wendy’s in La Mesa is at 8749 Campo Road.

McDonald’s will give away a free large fry order to customers who place an order via the app. There’s no additional purchase necessary to secure the free french fries, but you will need to sign up for the loyalty program, according to Today.

McDonald’s locations in La Mesa are at 8045 Fletcher Parkway and 5500 Grossmont Center.

Burger King will shake things up and offer free Chicken Fries Wednesday with mobile app orders, Today reported.

Fatburger will offer free Fat or Skinny fries with any in-store or online purchase, but you’ll have to use the promo code “FrenchFryDay22,” according to Thrillist. The deal will run from Wednesday to Tuesday.
