La Mesa Citizen Oversight Group Launches Twitter Presence
The local watchdog group continues their digital discussion.

The La Mesa Citizen Oversight Group (LMCOG) kicked off the local watchdog group's new Twitter page with a live blow-by-blow account of the budget hearings at the City Council on June 25.
The group bills itself as: "Your local advocate for promoting open, accountable, cost-effective, efficient government, and for opposing unnecessary taxes, fees, regulations, and policies."
An example of the Tweets from the council meeting: "Councilwoman Alessio advocates cutting car allowance. 'We're part time employees!' Great night for deficit hawks. Only $35M to go!"
The Twitter page goes towards one of the organization's stated purposes, "to promote awareness, discussions and citizen involvement in areas such as public policy..."
LMCOG also has a blog on La Mesa Patch.
