La Mesa Journalist Outlegs the Competition in Olympic Trials Sprint

Ken Stone, former editor of La Mesa-Mount Helix Patch, wins 100-meter dash in Eugene, OR.

Ken Stone, a 13-year resident of La Mesa, took part in an all-comers track meet Tuesday night at the University of Oregon—winning his 100-meter dash heat during the Rest Day of the Olympic Trials.

Stone, associate regional editor for Patch.com in San Diego County, wrote about his race on his blog at masterstrack.com and posted the video.

He is in Eugene, OR, covering athletes from Patch towns, and one of his stories was cited online Tuesday in The New York Times.
