EL CAJON, CA — A man was killed after crashing his truck and then suffering from a fatal gunshot wound Tuesday night on Interstate 8 in San Diego's East County, authorities said.
The 20-year-old Lemon Grove man was driving west on I-8 through El Cajon around 8:35 p.m when his Dodge pickup truck struck a concrete wall, crossed all lanes of traffic, veered off the roadway, went down an embankment, and came to rest on the freeway onramp at Mollison Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver got out of the truck and then suffered a fatal gunshot wound, CHP Officer Jared Grieshaber said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

"A weapon was located on scene, and there are no suspects or people of interest at this time," Grieshaber said. "The prior reports of this being a 'road rage' incident on Interstate 8 have been unfounded."
The man's name was withheld pending family notification.
