Man Fatally Shot In La Mesa Identified
The victim was shot in a parked car, police said.
LA MESA, CA — Authorities on Wednesday publicly identified a man who was fatally shot last weekend in a parked car in La Mesa.
Officers responded to a report of gunfire at about 12:35 a.m. Sunday in the 7100 block of Waite Drive, according to the La Mesa Police Department.
Police found Roderick Stroman, 42, of San Diego fatally wounded behind the steering wheel of a parked sedan with a shattered driver's side window, Lt. Katy Lynch said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Investigators believe the suspect in this case specifically targeted Mr. Stroman, although their exact relationship and what led to Mr. Stroman being targeted remains under investigation," Lynch said.
A suspect wearing a dark hoodie shot the victim then fled eastbound on Waite Drive in a dark-colored, four-door sedan, Lynch said.

Anyone with any information was asked to contact the La Mesa Police Department at 619-667-1400 or San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 was being offered for information that leads to an arrest in the case.
