Pair Face Attempted-Murder Charges in Head Shooting of Arizona Tourist, 16
Men 19 and 20 charged with a total of 26 offenses, will be arraigned in San Diego Superior Court.

Two suspected San Diego gang members have been arrested in the shooting of Zach Lamb, a 16-year-old Arizona tourist whose head was grazed with a bullet, according to press reports and jail records.
Alvaro Regalado, 19, and Juan Jose Arriero, 20, are being held at County Jail on bail of $100,000 and $65,000, respectively—and face a long series of charges over several days, starting Friday, in San Diego Superior Court.
Jail records say Regalado faces 17 counts, including attempted murder, robbery and charges related to being a felon on probation. Arriero is charged with nine offenses, including attempted murder and marijuana possession.

Regalado was booked early Wednesday and Arriero early Thursday in connection with Monday’s incident near the Chico Club on El Cajon Boulevard near the San Diego border, say jail records.
The San Diego Union-Tribune, citing La Mesa police, reported Thursday night that members of the East County Gang Task Force arrested Regalado at his San Diego residence on Tuesday, and on Wednesday members of the San Diego Police Department’s Gang Suppression Team arrested Arriero near his San Diego home.

Chris Lamb, the victim's father, told KGTV Channel 10 News that Zach waited for him and his older brother to fall asleep before heading out. Lamb said the teen went out at that hour because there would be little to no traffic.
Channel 10 quoted the father as saying: “When they saw all these hills in California, they’re like, 'Man, I’m going to bomb some hills.' And I said, 'You ain’t bombing nothing with all this traffic out here.' So, he waited until one in the morning when there wouldn’t be no traffic.”
Zach was taken to Sharp Grossmont Hospital after the 1:50 a.m. incident, and was interviewed Monday by Fox Channel 69 News in the hospital with his father.
La Mesa police said the boy was riding his skateboard when the robbery occurred in the 7300 block of El Cajon Boulevard near Keeney Street—the San Diego city limit.
Police Capt. Carlos Medero said the boy was alone and willingly gave up some cash and a personal item (which his father said was a pack of cigarettes). He was shot afterward, Medero said.
