Police Arrest San Diegan Suspected of Threatening Life of Albertson’s Clerk

Three weeks after incident, Robert Titus Jr. is being held in Fletcher Parkway grocery robbery.

La Mesa police Wednesday morning arrested a 23-year-old San Diego man after he allegedly threatened the life of a store clerk while stealing a shopping cart full of food from the Albertson’s market on Fletcher Parkway.

Robert Lee Titus Jr., the suspect, is charged with shoplifting on July 21, then threatening to shoot an employee who confronted him, though the victim saw no gun, according to police.

Detectives identified Titus as the suspected robber, and he was arrested Wednesday morning at his San Diego home, said police Lt. Dan Willis.

Titus was being held in County Jail on $100,000 bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. Friday in El Cajon Superior Court.
