Police Plan Sting Operation at El Cajon Courthouse Thursday Afternoon
Effort targets drivers who continue to drive even after having their license suspended as the result of a prior DUI arrest.

For the second time in three months, the La Mesa Police Department this afternoon (Thursday) will conduct what it calls a Court Sting Operation at the El Cajon courthouse.
“Our main focus will be to identify those drivers who continue to drive even after having their license suspended as the result of a prior DUI arrest,” said police Lt. Matt Nicholass. “The detail will be operational for approximately four hours.”
The San Diego Superior Court branch is at 250 E. Main St. in El Cajon.

“This operation will serve as yet another reminder to the citizens of our community, that the La Mesa Police Department will not tolerate drunk drivers or those persons who continue to drive after having their license suspended,” Nicholass said.
In mid-February, 13 drivers had their vehicles impounded in a La Mesa Police Department sting operation at the El Cajon courthouse. Police said 171 subjects were contacted and 13 of them were found to be driving on a suspended or revoked license.
