Police Search for Home Intruder West of Harry Griffen Park

Tall man with thinning hair was spotted by resident breaking in the front door on Lakeview Drive.

A homeowner west of Harry Griffen Park may have scared off an intruder Monday afternoon who had broken the front door to gain access, authorities said.

According to La Mesa police, officers responded at 2:41 p.m. to a radio call of a possible home invasion in the 9800 block of Lakeview Drive.

“The initial report was called in by the resident who saw the suspect enter his home through the front door, which had been broken by the suspect and then immediately leave on foot,” said a press release.

The intruder was described as a Hispanic man in his late 30s to 40s, wearing a plain gray T-shirt and faded jeans. He was described as being tall with thinning hair.

There was no loss or injuries during the attempted burglary, police said.

Police searched the area but couldn’t find a suspect.
