Warren-Walker Lower School in La Mesa a Sign of Healthy Growth

Warren-Walker School, with three campuses in San Diego, celebrates its 80th year when it opens its doors Wednesday, Sept. 7. Warren-Walker School was founded in 1932 by Nellie Warren-Walker. Her first class was held above Senator Kraft's drugstore at 1891 Bacon Street in Ocean Beach.

In the school’s 80 years there have been only three heads of school providing continuity in its proven and successful academic program.

Despite economic conditions Warren-Walker has experienced significant growth in the past 10 years, and built two new buildings at the Point Loma Avenue site, added a middle school campus in Mission Valley, and a second lower school in La Mesa. The school has continued to maintain its small class sizes and advanced interdisciplinary program.

The school’s philosophy lies in its belief that the development of self-confidence, self-discipline, good character and academic achievement are founded in a solid acquisition of basic skills, thinking skills and communication skills, brought about by a highly dedicated administration and staff.
