200 Memorial Vases Stolen From Lamorinda-Area Cemetery

LAMORINDA, CA — Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office detectives are investigating a grand theft from a Lamorinda-area cemetery.

Oakmont Memorial Park, located at 2099 Reliez Valley Road in unincorporated Lafayette, notified the sheriff's office last month that an estimated 200 bronze vases had gone missing.

Oakmont staff noticed the vases, attached to gravesites, were gone but did not know exactly when they were stolen.

A memorial bench was also vandalized.
