Prior to the Assistance League® regular meeting Wednesday, May 14, Marketing Communications Consultant Tracey Farrell, a member of the Park Theater Trust Organization, provided a slide presentation to explain the thrust re. its refurbishment effort. The Park Theater Trust (TPTT) is a 501(c) (3) California Public Benefit Corporation comprised of Lafayette citizens and representatives of community organizations. TPTT has a Board of Directors and Operating Bylaws, and is currently supported by an all-volunteer organization.

A Lafayette resident since 1985, Tracey and her husband Glen have raised three daughters, all of whom have fond memories of vacation matinees, date nights and parties at the Park Theater. They share with others a mission to refurbish and operate the iconic Park Theater and to revitalize it into an accessible and inclusive community-centered cinema, arts and cultural hub, resplendent with critically acclaimed films and throwback favorites.

Designated as a nonprofit entity in 2019 and a theater in 2020, the Park Theater endeavor has amassed $2 million in 2024 from 513 donations, with 25% coming from outside the area. Human talent, tenacity and foresight explain its success.
