Lamorinda Death Notices

Mary Ann Thomason, a longtime resident of Rossmoor, was born in Minnesota and grew up in Southern California and Oakland. She taught in Oakland and Berkeley. After she and her husband moved to Lafayette, Thomason became a partner in the Brown Avenue Antique Collective. Thomason died on Sept. 27 at the age of 94.

Donald W. Schmidt, a resident of Clayton, was born in Berkeley and grew up in Kensington and Orinda. He graduated from Acalanes High School. Schmidt was a U.S. Navy veteran. He also graduated from Armstrong Business College. He worked as an account supervisor for Unocal for more than 30 years. Schmidt died on Sept. 23 at the age of 81.
