Atmospheric River, Flood Watch, High Wind Watch In Lamorinda: What To Know
It's going to be a wet, windy few days in Lamorinda as multiple atmospheric rivers approach.
LAMORINDA, CA — A wet Christmas is barreling toward Lamorinda and the entire Bay Area as multiple atmospheric rivers approach. The cities will be under a Flood Watch from Tuesday at 10 a.m. until Friday at 10 p.m., and a High Wind Watch from Tuesday at 7 p.m. until Wednesday at 4 p.m.
A total of two to four inches is expected across the Bay Area interior region, while as much as six inches is expected in higher elevations. Winds from 20-30 mph and gusts of up to 60 mph are expected Tuesday night.
The atmospheric river has already brought as much as four inches of rain to parts of the North Bay, and two and a half inches to Mt. Diablo. The rain has brought flash flooding, water rescue, and at least one confirmed death, according to authorities.

In Lafayette, a sandbag station is available at the corner of Mt. Diablo Boulevard at Village Center, across from the Veteran's Memorial Building, and the corner of Camino Diablo and Loveland, across from the corporation yard. Residents are asked to bring their own shovels. If the station needs supplies, call public works at 925-934-3908 or submit an onlinePublic Works Maintenance Request.

The Moraga-Orinda Fire District provides sand, bags, and a shovel at the Rancho Laguna parking lot at 2101 Camino Pablo in Moraga, and Fire Stations 43 (20 Via Las Cruces) and 44 (295 Orchard Road) in Orinda.
The National Weather Service also advises cleaning gutters and drains of leaves, driving slowly on wet roadways, and allowing for extra travel time. Due to the high winds, all large items outside should be brought in or tied down.
