LAMORINDA, CA — Ah, the humble sandwich! From piled-high pastrami to ooey-gooey grilled cheese — nothing is quite as satisfying for a filling lunch. You've probably perfected your own favorites in your kitchen, but if you are looking to try a sub shop, cafe or deli, the Bay Area News Group put out a list recently of 16 restaurants to try around the Bay Area.

Several East Bay eateries made the list including Sideboard in Lafayette.

"This Lafayette hot spot has the rustic feel of a casual cafe you might stumble across in the countryside, complete with chalkboard menu, wooden tables and an actual grandma’s sideboard holding condiments and utensils," the newspaper wrote. "Order at the counter, and they’ll bring you your food — even if you’re picnicking at the little park across the street. Just be sure to tell them you need 'picnic service.'"
