Sirens, Loud Noises Part Of Active Shooter Training In Moraga: Police

Public safety personnel from throughout Contra Costa County came to St. Mary's College to take part in the training exercise Tuesday.

MORAGA, CA — Loud noises and sirens may be heard Tuesday near St. Mary's College as police and fire personnel take part in active shooter training at the campus, the Moraga Police Department advised.

Public safety personnel from throughout Contra Costa County came to Moraga to take part in the exercise scheduled to continue until 1 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

"This training helps prepare our first responders to respond effectively to critical incidents in our community," the Moraga Police Department said. "There may be loud noises or sirens in the area, but they are part of the training exercise and should be ignored. To report emergencies, please call 911. Thank you for helping us keep Moraga a safe community."
