Smoke Likely Visible During Prescribed Burn
The Moraga-Orinda Fire District was working with the Air District to ensure minimal smoke impact on the community.

ORINDA, CA — Smoke may be visible Monday from a prescribed burn in Orinda, officials said.
The Moraga-Orinda Fire District was scheduled to conduct the burn —if weather conditions remained favorable — from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to maintain the North Orinda Shaded Fuel Break.
Residents in the Sleepy Hollow and North Orinda neighborhoods, as well as motorists driving adjacent roads, may see or smell smoke from the fire. Residents should close exterior doors and windows to keep smoke from entering their homes, according to MOFD.

To ensure the burn is conducted safely and with minimal smoke impacts to the community, the fire district said it was coordinating the project with the Bay Area Air Quality Management District.
"Safety is the number one priority," MOFD said. "If burning conditions become unfavorable the project will be rescheduled."
