Transient Arraigned On Attempted Kidnapping Charges In Lafayette Case

A preliminary hearing for Ralph Grohs, 57, will be held on Oct. 28 in the attempted abduction case

A transient was arraigned Thursday afternoon on attempted kidnapping charges in connection with an attempted abduction case in Lafayette.

Ralph Grohs, 57, pleaded not guilty to the charge in Contra Costa Superior Court.

A preliminary hearing for Grohs will be held on Oct. 28 to determine if there is enough evidence to take the case to trial.

Grohs is accused of trying to grab an 8-year-old child near the Lafayette Library and Learning Center on Oct. 12.
