13-year-old takes Reno vacation with stolen card

Twin Cities Police Log: Feb. 23-March 1

• A resident in the 5200 block of Paradise Drive reported a flock of turkeys in the roadway. They believed this could be a traffic hazard.

• A resident in the 100 block of Harvard Drive reported that his 13 year old son had stolen a credit card and used it for approximately $120 in charges in Reno. At this time he declined further action. Advice was given.

• In the 70 block of Corte Loyola, a resident reported that his wife’s unlocked vehicle was entered. Taken were a headset and a Fastrak transponder.

• A Larkspur resident reported that while her unlocked vehicle was parked in the Corte Madera Town Center, it was entered and a laptop computer and iPad were stolen. Total loss was estimated at $1300.

• Officers responded to a minor-injury accident in the 1500 block of Casa Buena Drive between a San Rafael Resident and a Sausalito resident. A report was taken for documentation.

• A San Rafael resident reported that while he was at the Bay Club Marin in the Corte Madera Town Center, he was hit in the face by another person. He was unable to provide any other information about the other subject then his first name. A report was taken for an Assault. Follow-up is pending.

• A resident in the 30 block of Lark Court reported the theft of several items from his unlocked vehicle during the night. Some of the items were recovered near the scene of another theft from an auto in the 400 block of Montecito Drive. Total loss is still undetermined.

• In the 500 block of Redwood Ave., a resident reported the theft of his sunglasses and several credit cards from his unlocked vehicle. The credit cards were already canceled and do not appear to have been used at this time. Total loss was not provided.

• A Twin Cities Police Officer was flagged down in the Bon Air Shopping Center to report a possible drunk driver who had “struck numerous items” on El Portal Drive. The vehicle was located “high-centered” on a median to the rear of the Mollie Stone’s grocery store in the shopping center. A Greenbrae man was arrested for suspicion of Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol and booked at the Marin County Jail.

• Officers responded to a report of a possible physical fight in a residence in the 1400 building of Lincoln Village Circle. Upon initial arrival, a subject fled the area on foot. Officers were able to gain entry to the residence and located several subjects inside, including a female subject who was non-responsive. A medical check-out was provided for the female who was eventually medically cleared. The confrontation was determined to have been verbal only. There was no further action by TCPD.

• A resident in the 100 block of Harbor Drive reported a band playing “at concert levels”. The responsible band was located and advised of the complaint. They moved the practice inside.

• A resident of the 70 block of Corte Baristo reported that during the night, someone had smashed the rear windshield, both driver’s side window’s and kicked the door of her son’s vehicle while it was parked in front of the residence. The damage was estimated at $2000. A vandalism report was taken.

• The Greenbrae Care Center on South Eliseo Drive reported that while she was asleep, someone had stolen a diamond ring off the finger of one of their patients, a Mill Valley resident. The ring is valued at approximately $2000. A report was taken for Grand Theft and Elder Abuse.
While out on the previous incident, a Tiburon resident who is also a patient at the Greenbrae Care Center contacted the officer and reported that her credit card had been stolen and that it had been used to purchase gas in Richmond. A theft report was taken to be forwarded to the Richmond Police Department for follow-up.

• Two different callers reported hearing between two and five shots while on the walking trail that begins in the area of Willow Ave. and Hawthorne Ave. TCPD Units checked the area, but were unable to locate anyone.

• TCPD Units responded to the 1800 building of Lincoln Village Circle for a report of three suspicious subjects, one possibly being female, walking through the carports looking into vehicles. A Santa Rosa woman was located, but Units were unable to determine if she was involved. She was identified and sent on her way. No one else was located and it did not appear that any vehicles had been entered.

• A resident in the 400 block of Via Hidalgo called to report a physical confrontation in the area of her residence with one subject yelling for someone to “call the police!” Upon arrival in the area, Units located a taxi cab driver who was restraining a subject. A Greenbrae man was arrested for being Intoxicated in a Public Place, Defrauding a Taxi Cab Driver, being a Minor in Possession of Alcohol and Felony Violation of Probation. After being medically cleared, he was booked at the Marin County Jail.

• Corte Madera Public Works reported vandalism at San Clemente Park. A vehicle had driven over the lawns, causing damage. Photographs were taken to document the damage.

• During this one week time period, we had 274 calls for service. This included 1 accident with minor injuries, five hit and run accidents and five property damage only accidents. There were four auto burglaries, one commercial burglary and one residential burglary. There were three call related to Driving while Intoxicated, resulting in one arrest.
