THURSDAY
• Get Ready: You never know when mayhem might hit, so it's good to invoke the Boy Scouts motto "Always be prepared." Larkspur firefighters will lead the "Get Ready Larkspur" disaster preparedness class Thursday at 7 p.m. The class is free. The next class will be held December 15.
• eBooks Petting Zoo: The Corte Madera Library is keeping up with the times by adding eBooks to its collection. Staff will hold a free workshop Thursday at 10 a.m. to introduce readers into the world of eBooks.
FRIDAY
• Poetry Night: Poet Laureate Kay Ryan will discuss her new work, The Best of It: New and selected poems, at Dominican University on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25.
