Corte Madera Child Luring Report: No Crime Committed, Police Say
Police now say there was no merit to a report Tuesday about a man possibly trying to lure an 11-year-old girl into his minivan.

CORTE MADERA, CA — The Central Marin Police Authority today discounted a report Tuesday about a man possibly trying to lure a girl into his minivan after the driver contacted police. The driver, who was not identified, told police Thursday he was driving with his two children in a gray Honda van to Granada Park when he saw the 11-year-old girl and offered her a ride home, police said.
When the girl declined, the driver said he continued driving to the park, police said.
The girl's mother contacted police about the incident which then was broadcast to the media, on the neighborhood social network Nextdoor and was shared by parents in the Larkspur-Corte Madera School District, police said.
