Marin Politician Injured During Bike Ride
Councilman Bob Ravasio was injured after being hit by a car while riding his bike. The ambulance that transported him then crashed.

CORTE MADERA, CA -- A Corte Madera councilman was the victim of two car crashes last weekend. The Marin Independent Journal reported Councilman Bob Ravasio was hit by a car while riding his bike Saturday morning, the ambulance that transported him to the hospital was then in a separate car crash.
The incident happened just after 9 a.m. Saturday when an ambulance was dispatched to White Hills after Ravasio was hit by a car. Around 9:47 a.m., the ambulance and another car crashed on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at Broadmoor Avenue, near Sir Francis Drake High School in San Anselmo, officials said.
A total of three people, including a paramedic, were taken to the hospital.

The Journal reported Ravasio "suffered broken ribs, a broken collarbone, a possible concussion and head cuts from his shattered bicycle helmet."
His wife, Pat, told the newspaper he's expected to be released this week.

Central Marin Police Authority is leading an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
