Police Called to Break Up Scene at Silver Peso
Bike thefts and burglaries are among the 337 calls that kept the Twin Cities Police busy this week, June 20-26.

Following is the weekly log provided by the Twin Cities Police. Arrests do not necessarily mean convictions.
• An employee of the Silver Peso Bar, located at 450 Magnolia Ave., reported a group of subjects were causing a disturbance and were no longer welcome at the business. Soon after, another caller reported a group of subjects were physically threatening other subjects inside. Officers responded along with mutual aid from other area Police Departments. Two male subjects and two female subjects were arrested for Public Intoxication and Resisting Arrest. They were booked into the Marin County Jail.
• A Kentfield resident reported that his bicycle, a black Cannondale Mountain bike, valued at approximately $800, parked at the Marin Rowing Club, was stolen. Documentation was provided for the theft.

• A Mill Valley resident reported that while her vehicle was parked in the lot of a business in the 40 block of Tamal Vista Boulevard, her laptop computer was taken from her unlocked vehicle. The loss is approximately $3,000. A Grand Theft report was taken for documentation.
• A caller reported a possible drunk driver who he followed from the freeway. The vehicle turned left off Eliseo onto Via La Cumbre. Officers located the vehicle on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard in Ross. A Fairfax woman was arrested for Driving While Under the Influence and was booked into the Marin County Jail.
• The manager for an apartment building in the 300 block of Via Hidalgo reported there is a suspicious vehicle parked in the lot. Upon arrival, Officer found the trunk open and items thrown around the area. The owner was contacted and confirmed that the vehicle had been stolen from San Pablo, but that he did not want to file a police report. He was given the location of his vehicle to pick it up.
• A resident of the 20 block of Redwood Avenue reported her bicycle, a Giant brand mountain bike, royal blue with black trim, was stolen. It had been locked to a pole in her carport. Documentation was provided for the theft.
• A Larkspur resident reported while his bicycle was parked in the 200 block of Magnolia Avenue, someone cut the cable. A bike bag was stolen from under the seat, but the bike, described as being old and beat up, was left behind. The bag contained a spare inner tube, changing tool, a tool kit and $5. It also may have had a business card in it. The bag is black and is "Sports Basement" brand. Documentation was provided for the theft.
• A resident of the 70 block of Corte Oriental reported his vehicle was stolen. A check of the area met with negative results. An Auto Theft report was taken and the vehicle was entered into the Stolen Vehicle System.
• A Corte Madera resident reported she left her blue "Marin Adventure Camp" workout bag at the bus stop at the bottom of the Larkspur stairs, in the 200 block of Magnolia Avenue. When the she returned, the bag was gone. It contained her house and car keys, but no cash or identification. The loss is approximately $40. Documentation was provided for the theft.
• Pursuant to a stop of a bicyclist in the area of Victoria Way and Larkspur Landing Circle, a San Rafael man was arrested for Possession of Marijuana. He was released on a citation for the violation, along with other traffic violations.
• A resident of the 10 block of Pixley Avenue reported her husband's unlocked dark blue, men's mountain bike, valued at approximately $330, was taken from the area of their residence. Documentation was provided for the theft.
• A resident of the 400 building of Old Quarry Road North reported her residence was broken into. Taken were an Xbox game console and 4 video games. A Residential Burglary report was taken.
• A resident of the 200 block of Monte Vista reported a subject came to his front door, then to his back door and wanted to be let inside his residence. When the he refused, the subject left on foot. A matching subject was located in the area and engaged the Officers in a foot pursuit. The subject was witnessed hopping over a fence and then located climbing a 40 foot tree. While Officers were attempting to talk the subject down, he jumped from the tree onto the second story roof. The subject sustained major injuries, and was transported to Kaiser, and then later transported back to the Marin General Hospital Emergency Room where he was immediately taken into surgery. The subject was later determined to have been involved in at least four other Residential Burglaries or attempt Residential Burglaries. Investigation is continuing.
• The management for the Spyglass Apartments reported during the night, three sets of 20 mailboxes were pried open. At this time it is unknown if any mail was taken. A Commercial Burglary report was taken. There is possible follow-up pending.
• A Loss Prevention Agent for Nordstrom, located in the Village Shopping Center, reported they had a subject in custody for the theft of $103 worth of merchandise. A Fairfax was arrested for Shoplifting. She was released on a citation.
• A business in the 400 block of Magnolia Avenue reported there are two fraudulent charges on their business checking account. She called the company they were made to and learned the charges are in the pending stages. She was told that if she obtained a police report the company would deny the charges. A Fraud report was taken for documentation.
• A Loss Prevention Agent for Macy’s, located in the Village Shopping Center, reported he in a physical struggle with a female subject who was attempting to get away. Officers responded and the subject was arrested for shoplifting. A San Francisco woman arrested for Shoplifting. She was booked at the Police Station and released on a citation.
• An employee of a Safeway, located in the Corte Madera Town Center, reported an intoxicated male subject was at the self checkout attempting to purchase more alcohol. He stated the subject got upset with him when the he refused to sell him the alcohol. A Mill Valley man was arrested for Public Intoxication and booked into the Marin County Jail.
• A business in the 200 block of Tamalpais Drive reported they had been broken into. Entry and exit were made through an unsecured bathroom window. Taken was approximately $180 in cash and a white 13" Apple MacBook. A Commercial Burglary report was taken. There is possible further investigation pending.
• A resident of the 1800 building of Lincoln Village Circle reported the theft of his bicycle, which had been locked with a cable lock around a steel beam. The lock was cut. The bicycle is a dark green men's 21 speed Trek mountain bike, with blue and white rock shocks on the front, with a value of $200. Documentation was provided for the theft.
• A caller reported he thinks he may have witnessed a bike being stolen from the area of the Mollie Stone’s Grocery Store in the Bon Air Shopping Center. He observed a subject take a bike from the bike rack of a car and put it into his pick-up, which was backed up to the car, and then leave. The subject was described as a white male adult, approximately five-foot-ten-inches to six foot tall, with very short hair; almost bald. The vehicle is described as a white full sized pick-up. The driver stayed in the vehicle and the passenger took the bike. While Officers were responding, the victim called to report her bike, a Specialized, red, 12 speed mountain bike, valued at $2,500, was stolen from her parked vehicle. Officers canvassed the area and were unable to locate the suspect vehicle. A Grand Theft report was taken.
• A Loss Prevention Officer for Mollie Stone’s Grocery Store called back to advise they had a subject in custody for the theft of $64.05 in merchandise. A Mill Valley woman was arrested for Shoplifting. After processing at TCPD, she was released on a citation.
• A Santa Rosa resident reported her vehicle had been stolen from the gravel parking lot across from Nordstrom. An Auto Theft report was taken and the vehicle was entered into the Stolen Vehicle.
• A Sausalito resident reported his vehicle was broken into while it was parked in a lot in the 1500 block of Casa Buena Drive. Taken was a black briefcase, worth $50 and two checkbooks. An Auto Burglary report was taken. While out on this report, the Officer located another vehicle that had been broken into. The rear window had been smashed out, however nothing was taken. Documentation was provided for the vandalism.
• A resident of Hatzic Court reported her intoxicated boyfriend was abusive and threw her out of the house. She stated he grabbed her and squeezed her neck. Officers responded and contacted both parties. The female declined medical attention, the male half agreed to leave for the night and a Domestic Battery report was taken for documentation.
• A resident of the 2100 block of Redwood Highway reported someone was using his identification for tax purposes. He was notified via mail from the Tax Franchise Board. A Fraud report was taken.
• A resident of the 600 block of Via Casitas reported his vehicle was broken into in the area of his residence. Vehicle paperwork was taken. An Auto Burglary report was taken.
• A Greenbrae resident reported her unlocked bicycle, a silver men's mountain bike, valued at $800, was stolen from the area of Mollie Stone’s Grocery Store in the Bon Air Shopping Center. A Theft report was taken.
• A business in the Cost Plus Plaza reported an employee came to work intoxicated and they sent him home. He was later found wandering in the parking lot. A Novato man was located and was confirmed to be intoxicated. He was arrested for Public Intoxication and booked into the Marin County Jail.
• While on patrol in the 120 block of Golden Hind Passage, an Officer contacted two subjects sleeping in the back of a vehicle. A Greenbrae woman was identified and released at the scene. A Tiburon was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and an outstanding warrant for a parole violation. He was booked at the Marin County Jail.
• An employee of the Marin Rowing Club reported a 15 year old student witnessed a male subject attempt to steal a bicycle from the area. He advised there is video of the incident. Officers located the subject who was positively identified by the witness. A San Rafael juvenile male was arrested for Attempted Petty Theft, Possession of Burglary Tools and Possession of Narcotics Paraphernalia. He was released to his mother in San Rafael on a juvenile citation.
• A Corte Madera Public Works employee reported graffiti vandalism in San Clemente Park. Photographs were taken to document the vandalism.
• A business in the 1100 block of Magnolia Avenue reported entry to business during the night. Entry was made thru the back window. Cash and costume jewelry valued at $165 were taken. A Commercial Burglary report was taken.
• A Kentfield resident reported his son unlocked bike was stolen from the bike rack in front of the CVS Pharmacy. The bicycle is a boy’s blue Felt single speed BMX bike with purple handle bars, white gears, black tires with white chain wheels, white brake cable, golden brake lever, black wheels and black spokes, and a white seat with an approximate value of $250. A Theft report was taken for documentation and the bicycle was entered into the Automated Property System.
• A Tiburon resident reported her son, while on the bus home from Summer School at the Redwood High School, was assaulted by another student. A report taken for assault and there is further investigation pending.
• A resident of the 700 block of Via Casitas reported the theft of her bicycle from the mail room at the Spyglass Apartments. She advised this occurred last week at the same time the mailboxes were broken into at the apartment complex. The bicycle is described as a Specialized road bike, 20 speed, purple, valued at approximately $700. A Theft report was taken.
• A Richmond resident reported her wallet was taken from her unlocked vehicle while it was parked in the lot at the Marin Country Mart shopping center. Taken were credit cards, identification, a Pharmacist's license, and $200 cash. Charges have already been made on her credit card. A report was taken to document the theft.
• The Vallejo Police Department reported they had recovered a vehicle reported to TCPA as stolen from the 70 block of Corte Oriental on June 19, 2012. There is no one in custody and the vehicle is not damaged. The vehicle was cleared from the Stolen Vehicle System and the owner was advised.
• Pursuant to being contacted in the 30 block of San Clemente Drive, a Corte Madera woman was arrested for two outstanding warrants held by the Marin County Sheriff’s. She was booked at the Marin County Jail.
• A San Anselmo resident reported that while she was at Gold’s Gym, located at 10 Fifer Ave., someone entered her unlocked locker and took her car keys and iPhone for a loss of $450. A Commercial Burglary report was taken.
During this one week time period, Twin Cities Police had 337 calls for service. This included one call related to accidents with minor injuries, two hit and run accidents and eight property damage only accidents. There were three auto burglaries, three commercial burglaries and six residential burglaries. There was one call related to Driving while Intoxicated, resulting in one arrest.
