Ride Your Bike, Get A Free Ferry Ride On Thursday

Commuters to and from the Larkspur ferry terminal have a chance to win swag during Bike to Work Day.

Why not take your bike on a ferry ride on your way to work Thursday?

In celebration of Bike to Work Day, anyone who rides a bike to work this Thursday, May 9, and commutes on the San Francisco Bay Ferry, will ride the ferry for free. Bike space is limited to 30 bikes per boat, and free ride passes are available on a first-come-first-served basis. There are also bike lockers at the Larkspur ferry terminal.

The free ride is good on any San Francisco Bay Ferry service, except service to and from AT&T Park. The pass is good all day, and in any direction.

“We support all forms of alternative transportation and want to recognize our SF Bay Ferry riders who are helping our environment and mitigating congestion,” said Nina Rannells, Executive Director of the Water Emergency Transportation Authority (WETA). “We hope all SF Bay Ferry riders will have some fun and join in the #bikeacrossthebay photo contest.”

All San Francisco Bay Ferry passengers on May 9 also are eligible to enter the #bikeacrossthebay photo contest, with the winner receiving the latest Apple iPod nano for their future SF Bay Ferry commuting pleasure.
