Store manager Troy Garot knows he has a good product and it wasn't too hard to get the word out leading up to the store's launch. All he had to do was to give away free ice cream at the weekly farmers market every Saturday.

Garot knows a lot about the ice cream business, after managing Fentons Creamery shops in Oakland and Vacaville, where it's a local favorite.

"My favorite experience while working at Three Twins happens every day," Garot wrote on the Three Twins website. "It occurs when I see the "kid in a candy store" look on the customer's face as they get that first look at our inconceivably delicious organic ice cream. The anticipation during that time between first sight and first taste is priceless!"

The Three Twins factory in Petaluma produces natural, organic flavors that include, Mint Confetti, Bittersweet Chocolate, Chocolate Orange Confetti, Chocolate Peanut Butter (Garot's favorite), Cookies and Cream, Dad's Cardamom, Fair Trade Vanilla Bean Speck, Lemon Cookie, Mocha Difference, Strawberry Je Ne Sais Quoi and Vanilla Chocolate Chip.

Mag's Local Yogurt, which opened at about the same in downtown Larkspur on Magnolia Avenue, finished a close second. Mag's has its own devoted fanbase, as the store is often filled with students looking for a tasty treat after school.
