Weekend Planner: Rev Up With NHRA
July 27-29: Feel the earth shake with the power of some of the most powerful engines in the world; develop new skills at Book Passage or Williams-Sonoma.
OK, it just doesn't get much more exciting than the 300-mph nitro-fueled action at Race Sonoma with the NHRA Nationals this weekend. This star-studded event will help decide the playoff race for the world championship. It's also a chance for local drivers to share the world stage with some o the biggest names in racing.
Race fans can join Force, as well as his daughter, Courtney, with the Nitro Generation Starting Line Party ticket package on Sunday, July 29.
This package includes a reserved seat in the main grandstand and access to a special Q&A with John and Courtney, followed by a Track Walk down the strip, also with John and Courtney. You’ll also get a Thunder Alley pass, the closest access to the strip for race fans.

• Do you think everyone who Tweets is a Twit? Well, authors, find out how to maximize social media to get your story out there and maybe get it published. Join Cheryl McLaughlin at Book Passage in Corte Madera on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to learn Twitter Strategies for Authors. The cost is $120.
• From garden to dining table, Williams-Sonoma in The Village Shopping Center will show you how to prepare summer fruits. The FREE class, Sunday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., will show you how to select, store and cook the best berries and fruits all summer long.
• Flourish Chiropractic Studio will offer FREE posture evaluations at The Village shopping center all weekend. The evaluations are Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• The National Academy of Sports is hosting its Pass, Run, Catch Flag Football Camp along with Larkspur Recreation on Friday. The non-contact, camps are the perfect introduction to football. Emphasis will be on proper conditioning and warm-ups, footwork drills, agility, passing, receiving, and game strategies. Pre-registration is required. Camp is for children ages 7-12 years old. Half day camp is available from 9 a.m. to noon for $110.00
