5 Things for Friday: DUI Checkpoint, Pretty Plates, and 'The Bachelor'

There's light at the end of the workweek tunnel! And by light, I mean a five o'clock-tail.

Here are the 5 Things You Need to Know today:

5) Don't say you weren't warned. Sheriff's deputies from the Lemon Grove Station will run a sobriety and driver's license checkpoint from 8 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday on the 7900 block of Broadway.

More than two dozen DUI-trained deputies will staff the checkpoint in an effort to remove impaired and unlicensed drivers from the road, according to Sgt. Michelle McPhail of the traffic unit.

The checkpoint operation is funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.

Lemon Grove Patch will publish the total number of drivers arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or driving on a suspended license or not license at all, when the result become available.
