—David Brammer II: Raise the fees [to] pick up a dog? Hmmm, this city thrives on entitlement revenues from people who will not pay and in the end the result of this hike will be more dead dogs.

—JoAnne Burke: Tuesday is Trash day in my area, and it seems to be the day I see the most dogs running in the streets. There are people who open gates and go into peoples yards to dig through their trash. This has always bothered me because they have no thought of the dogs they let out of their yards. It is not always the owners fault these dogs get out. There are solicitors that open my gate and come into my yard and leave the gate open...this drives me crazy! The leash is the best answer, of course, but there are these times when the owners are not in control.
