Jason Heil is Top Lemon Grove Runner at the Debut San Diego Half Marathon

Jason Heil was the first of at least nine Lemon Grove finishers of Sunday’s inaugural San Diego Half Marathon at Petco Park, finishing the downtown course in 1 hour, 57 minutes, 5 seconds.
Heil, 41, ran the 13.1-mile course—which began and ended at the Padres ballpark—in an average of 8:56 per mile.
Ian Crano, 21, was the second Lemon Grove finisher in 2:09:32, averaging 9:53 miles.

The top Lemon Grove woman was Greta Granstedt, 26, who clocked 2:13:13, and averaged 10:10 miles.
The overall men’s and women’s winners were Okwaro Raura, 37, of Oceanside in 1:09:05—a 5:17 mile pace—and Bridie McCarey, 23, of San Diego, who clocked 1:21:40 and averaged 6:14 miles.

Some 5,438 runners took part in the half-marathon—with women outnumbering men 3,092 to 2,346.
