• Lemon Grove City Manager Lydia Romero announces resignation (sandiegouniontribune.com) — Lemon Grove’s longtime city manager, Lydia Romero, has announced she’ll step down at the end of the year after a decade leading City Hall. City leaders will soon appoint an interim manager and begin searching for her replacement, following praise from the mayor for Romero’s work on city finances, street repairs, and business support. 
• Homeless cabins in California will finally happen, and cost millions more than expected. Just-released emails show why (kentucky.com) — Lemon Grove is set to host a 60-cabin homeless shelter village on a Caltrans lot at Sweetwater Road and Troy Street, but federal rules have forced the county to buy the land for $2 million instead of leasing it cheaply. Construction could begin this spring, with $11.1 million in building costs and $3 million in annual operations, funded from the county’s homelessness budget.
