Community Corner

Main Street Promenade, Back to School, and Time to Pop a Tic Tac

Here are the five things you need to know today in Lemon Grove.

1. Paying for the Park: The Lemon Grove City Council will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Community Center, 3146 School Lane. Among the agenda items council members will consider is the voting results of the city’s Community Facilities District special election on whether to collect a tax to be used to maintain the Main Street Promenade. If approved, the city expects to generate $14,500 in annual fees for upkeep of the park.

2. Minty Fresh! Break out the Listerine, Binaca or Scope. Or all three. Tuesday is Fresh Breath Day. Come to think of it, every day should be Fresh Breath Day.

3. Supes Meeting: The San Diego County Board of Supervisors will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday, County Administration Center, Room 310, 1600 Pacific Highway. Among the agenda items is a contract for the Sheriff's Department to patrol the Grossmont and Cuyamaca college campuses, and a resolution to rename two jails.
