• Shasta-Trinity National Forest plans new round of prescribed fires for wildfire risk reduction (kymkemp.com) — Expect prescribed burns near Lewiston Dam this week as the Forest Service conducts small hand-pile fires by Pettijohn Hatchery to reduce wildfire risk. Operations run through Friday, December 19, 2025, with temporary area closures and some smoke possible, so watch for signs, drive carefully, and check air quality apps if you’re sensitive to smoke.
