Driver Killed In Vasco Road Crash

A second driver was hospitalized after a T-bone crash early Thanksgiving morning.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — One person died and one was hospitalized following an early morning, two-vehicle T-bone accident on Vasco Road near Walnut Boulevard south of state Highway 4 Thursday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District said.

Crews responded shortly before 4 a.m. and Vasco Road was closed in both directions for a time as the driver who was killed was extricated from the vehicle, which had " major intrusion of the passenger compartment," officials said.

The second driver was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.
