DUI Checkpoint Planned In Livermore Friday Night
CHP is planning a sobriety and drivers license check at an undisclosed location in Livermore Friday night.
LIVERMORE, CA — The California Highway Patrol is conducting a Sobriety / Driver's License Checkpoint at an undisclosed location within Livermore city limits Friday night. The checkpoint will take place between approximately 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., police said.
Drivers will see informational signs advising them that a checkpoint is ahead. Once in the checkpoint lane, drivers will be delayed just a few minutes while an officer explains the purpose of the checkpoint, which is to identify and prevent intoxicated drivers.
“We are sending a clear message to all individuals who are considering mixing alcohol and or drugs with driving – it is not worth the risk. Public safety is our top priority,” CHP Captain Gerardo Serrato said in a statement.
