Free Livermore Bird Walk, Canine Class Offered This Weekend

Look and listen for birds or learn about wolves amid the changing colors of Livermore's Sycamore Grove Park at events Saturday and Sunday.

LIVERMORE, CA — The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District is offering a free fall bird walk and canine class this weekend in Sycamore Grove Park.

The bird walk event will be held 9 a.m. Saturday. Binoculars will be available to borrow for the slow-paced walk guided by ranger Eric Whiteside, the park district said. Guests will look and listen for birds.

The "Canines Around the World" class will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, also at Sycamore Grove Park. Learn about canines around the world, including North American grey wolves and African jackals, at a class taught by Ranger Dan Thomas.

Both events will be canceled in the event of rain. Sycamore Grove Park is located at 5035 Arroyo Road.
