Dr. Eagan will teach, advise, lecture and develop curriculum at the University of Zagreb to expand student and faculty understanding of how perceptions of racial difference shape personal and cultural identity formation across national borders and continental divides. She will also teach an undergraduate American literature course that will explore how different cultures meet, interact, and adapt in American literature and society, and a graduate course on the formation of white racial identity in 19th-century Europe and America.
Prior to her departure for Zagreb, Dr. Eagan plans to spend her sabbatical working on global perspectives in the LPC curriculum and the prospective development of a global studies or other inter-culturally focused certificate or associate degree at the college.
Dr. Eagan is a tenured instructor at LPC, as well as a scholar who researches the racial formation of identity in the United States and Europe, particularly Ireland. She is a co-advisor to the Peace and Social Justice club and led students and community members on an educational trip to Ireland this past June.
