Livermore Area Recreation and Park District Foundation Seeks Trustees for Board

Volunteer Trustees are appointed for two-year terms.

LIVERMORE, CA - The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District Foundation is seeking applicants to serve on its Board of Trustees.

The Foundation is accepting applications through 5 p.m. on November 21, 2016, for volunteer positions. Trustees are appointed to serve two-year terms.

The LARPD Foundation is a volunteer body that supports and partners with the District's efforts to provide recreation and park services to the community. The Foundation also receives, invests and manages funds acquired through dues, donations, grants, gifts and bequests. The Foundation meets at least four times per year.

Recent LARPD Foundation accomplishments include subsidizing program fees in order for low-income individuals to participate in LARPD classes and programs. The Foundation also recently funded game cameras in Sycamore Grove Park for Open Space staff and for the public to learn more about the inhabitants of the 847-acre park.

Applicants must be 21 years old or older and community-minded. Knowledge or experience in the following areas is desirable, but not required: fundraising, grant writing, bookkeeping or working with nonprofit community organizations.
