Livermore Athletes Recognized By 49ers Cal-Hi Sports

LIVERMORE, CA — Athletes in Livermore have been awarded for their hard work and dedication to softball after receiving 2022 Spring Athlete of the Year awards from 49ers Cal-Hi Sports.

Makayla Winchell from Granada High School has been named Softball Player of the Year. Taylor Rodriguez from Livermore High School was named Softball Pitcher of the Year.

"Within the next week, the staff will be interviewing the following athletes in the NBC Sports Studio at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara for a video to be aired on our show June 5," Cal-Hi Sports said. "Congratulations to all of these outstanding athletes!"

Baseball Player of the Year: Jack Basseer, Foothill
Baseball Pitcher of the Year: Nic Bronzini, California
Softball Players of the Year: Makayla Winchell, Granada & Tianna Bell, Heritage
Softball Pitcher of the Year: Taylor Rodriguez, Livermore
Scholar Athlete: Evan Biter, Foothill

Central Coast Section (CCS) Winners
Baseball Player of the Year: Henry Bolte, Palo Alto
Baseball Pitcher of the Year: Blake Rogers, St. Francis
Softball Players of the Year: Jessica Oakland & Sydney Stewart, St. Francis
Softball Pitcher of the Year: Emma Fales, Branham
Scholar Athlete: Charlotte Edwards, St. Ignatius

The athletes will receive their awards at an end-of-the-year banquet on May 22 at Levi's Stadium.
