Livermore Joins Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run

LIVERMORE, CA — Hundreds of law enforcement officials across Northern California pass the Special Olympics torch as part of the Special Olympics Northern California Summer Games.

The Flame of Hope made its way through the Tri-Valley Thursday.

Livermore police carried the torch from the Nob Hill parking lot on E. Stanley Blvd on Railroad Avenue, South S. Street, First Street and Livermore Avenue ending at the police department.

"We’re grateful to carry the Flame of Hope through #Livermore and support @SONorCal," the police department tweeted. "The torch will now be passed to @MilpitasPD!"

“Dublin Police were joined by @ACSOSheriffs officers today for the annual Special Olympics Torch Run,” Dublin police tweeted. “We received the torch from @SanRamonPolice at Shannon Community Ctr. and carried it to Hacienda Crossings, passing it on to @pleasantonpd. Thank you for the support along the way!”

“Along with our brothers and sisters from @DublinCAPolice, @RegionalParksPD, and @LivermorePolice, it’s an honor to carry the Flame of Hope as part of @SONorCal,” the Pleasanton police department said on Twitter. “The Pleasanton team is proudly running 4+ miles in 88°F to support the Special Olympics.”

The 2022 Special Olympics Summer Games are from June 24–26 at Santa Clara University.
