Livermore K9 Sniffs Out Large Quantity Of Meth In Livermore Car: Police

A Livermore man was arrested after a canine allegedly sniffed out many grams of meth in his car, police said.

LIVERMORE, CA — A Livermore Police Department dog helped find 14.85 grams of methamphetamine inside a car, the department said.

Last Friday, a Livermore officer and his police dog Drake were in the 2900 block of Las Positas Road when a 2006 BMW pulled into the parking lot, according to a department report.

During a free-air sniff around the car, Drake alerted the officer to the possible presence of drugs. A probable cause search revealed 14.85 grams of methamphetamine, police said.

The driver, a 42-year-old man from Livermore, was arrested on charges of possessing a controlled substance and transportation/sale of methamphetamine.
