Livermore Man Suspected Of DUI After Late Night Car Crash

LIVERMORE, CA — A Livermore man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence early Friday after a car crashed into other cars and a power pole, police said.

Alfonso I. Garcia, 27, of Livermore was arrested, police said. No inmates by that name were in Santa Rita Jail late Friday morning, and details were limited.

The crash occurred around 2:40 a.m. in the 200 block of Rincon Avenue. A car struck several other cars and a power pole, Goard said. No injuries were reported.

A man tried to run from the scene of the crash but neighbors stopped him, and police detained him, Livermore police Sgt. Steve Goard said in an email.
