Livermore Men Charged With Carjacking, Kidnapping, Burglary
A victim enlisted a man to work on his truck, and then the mechanic and a friend stole the car and its belongings, police say.
LIVERMORE, CA — Two Livermore suspects have been arrested and charged with carjacking, robbery, kidnapping, criminal threats, and burglary, according to the Livermore Police Department.
In December, a victim hired 59-year-old Enrique Ballesteros of Livermore to work on his classic Chevrolet C10 truck, according to a department news release. On Jan. 3, Ballesteros and his co-defendant, 46-year-old Ricardo Sahor of Livermore, allegedly kidnapped, carjacked, and robbed the victim of cash, an electric mountain bike, mechanical tools, and his Chevrolet C10 truck.
On Feb. 29, Livermore detectives arrested Ballesteros and Sahor and charged them with multiple violent crimes. Detectives were able to recover some of the stolen property, including the truck, from Sutter Creek.
They also recovered a stolen trailer associated with another case.
The case has been turned over to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office.
